Photonics & Sensing Engineering
Photonics is the science and technology concerning the interaction between light and matter. Light also enriches our lives as a medium through color, manifesting in painting, photography, and art. As a core technology, photonics is applied to sensors, high-efficiency light sources, communications and information processing, long-term data storage, bioanalysis, and bioimaging. This group actively promotes collaboration between photonics/sensing researchers and researchers in other cutting-edge fields. Today, photonics is considered indispensable for solving global environmental issues and realizing healthy, safe, and secure living. We aim to achieve this through photonics innovation driven by interdisciplinary convergence.
