Looking for Talented Faculty
Director of Frontier Research Base for Global Young Researchers
TAKAI Shigemasa
The tenure track is worldwide program adopted by numerous Universities, but it has been unknown in Japan where University Professors can hire staff in their laboratory on their wills. When the government in Japan has transformed all national universities to administrative corporations in 2004, they began to change totally organization of universities. One of them is the introduction of the tenure track program in Japanese style.
The graduate school of engineering, Osaka University started a new program in 2006, based on the budget from the government, aiming establishment of the tenure track program in Osaka University style, which is called by the Frontier Research Base for Global Young Researchers. Through this program we are trying to look for new talented persons with expectation that they will become new powers in our university.
We would like young researchers to apply for our programs to obtain positions having potential to act globally.
