TransSupport Engineering
In light of Japan’s declining and aging population and increasingly severe natural disasters and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the question of daily transportation has been widely re-examined. We need to transition away from conventional transportation systems focused on mass transport and high-speed movement toward safe, secure, resilient, and sustainable mobility systems that meet the demands of the new decarbonization and “new normal” age, inclusive of people with different positions and values in society. To address this need, the TranSupport Engineering group collaborates with various other disciplines based on problem-solving design thinking and utilizing leading-edge technologies, to conduct practical research aimed at creating mobility systems that enhance human quality of life (QoL) and well-being, and support socioeconomic activities across urban, regional, and marine areas.
